One of Scotland's leading corporate firms is looking to add to their highly respected team with an additional lawyer with circa 3-5 PQE.
The restructuring and insolvency practice advises a wide range of stakeholders in distressed, restructuring and insolvency cases including senior, junior and subordinated debt providers, distressed borrowers and equity stakeholders (clients include major UK clearing banks, other lenders, major corporates, investment trusts and real estate investment companies and insolvency practitioners).
This is an opportunity to join a major restructuring practice which is continually expanding and offers a high quality of work throughout the UK and overseas. Support will be provided on all transactions by individuals from across the firm including banking and finance, capital markets, real estate, employment, intellectual property and pensions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding of legal principles of the restructuring and insolvency practice area and strong working knowledge of the related legislation and rules and a working knowledge of other practice areas. Ability to provide tailored legal advice in these areas and to project manage transactions, work with others and as part of a larger team and meet deadlines whilst producing work of a high quality.
- Good working relationship with clients, an understanding of the issues affecting clients in this practice area and a willingness to actively develop and strengthen client relationships
Candidate Requirements:
- Must have a strong insolvency and restructuring knowledge and background with excellent technical skills.
- Strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree) with excellent communication and drafting skills.
- Ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team.
