Job Purpose:
A senior developer is required to work in the algo development team in Belfast, focusing on administration and development activities around our KDB data archives.

The person should be experienced in IT development with a good understanding of the software lifecycle. They must be able to work well with other groups, and be self-motivated to meet aggressive timelines.

Job Background/context:
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Fixed Income, Commodities and Currencies (FICC) group and work closely with a front-office business unit to develop and maintain this strategically important platform. The Rates KDB environment is an important central part of our platform and various groups across trading, quants & IT are heavily dependent on it's availability and integrity.

The FI Business has set an ambitious growth plan and need technology to achieve their goals and keep their leading position in the financial market.

In 2012 FI Technology is the driver that will allow the business to achieve the Number 1 position in market share. The successful candidate will play a key role in that success. Qualifications

This position involves:

• Requirements analysis and capture
• Working with peers in other IT groups to ensure consistency at Global Markets level
• Design & Development of our KDB data environment to allow complete leverage
• Management and control of data capture & access
• Testing and UA coordination
• Liaison with global internal business, support and development teams
• Third line support of the platform during trading hours
• Applying an understanding of Fixed Income Rates financial products to the full development lifecycle
