Everyone’s Turning Point is unique. It’s the moment when they realise they’ve made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger. But only when the right support, advice and services are in place. That’s where you come in, working across a number of GP services in the Brighton area, providing our highly successful and innovative IAPT/Talking Therapies delivery model.

We support people who are having difficulty in coping and who may be suffering from a common mental illness such as depression, anxiety or phobia. Our approach embeds the notion of well-being and recovery and promotes personal responsibility for lifestyle choices and self-management of mental well-being. Uniquely, many of our interventions and treatments are telephone-based, which means we are able to provide a highly accessible service that is both user-friendly and capable of meeting the needs of a geographically dispersed client group. For you, that means the satisfaction of knowing your skills are available to those who need it most.

On a day-to-day basis you will accept referrals via agreed protocols and supporting those people in the self-management of their recovery. You will also provide telephone-based assessments and treatments, conduct group workshops with a facilitator, give guided self-help advice to clients and contribute to the wider delivery of our services in the community. We will also rely on you to pass unsuitable referrals to the relevant service and to maintain coherent records of all clinical activity.

You will need to be educated to degree level with a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies or equivalent. A successful background in delivering CBT to people suffering with anxiety and depression is also essential.

It goes without saying that you will need outstanding telephone as well as written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team. If you’re inspired by the social model of mental health that works holistically according to need rather than diagnosis and would like to help us achieve our vision, we can offer a competitive remuneration package, pension scheme, and excellent training and development opportunities.

You will be required to work Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, with one late evening until 8pm.
