Purpose of Role/ Job Summary:
To effectively and professionally manage the day-to-day organisation of the surveying activities for fire compartmentation compliance works Gatwick airport including, procurement , installation, recording, certifying, and pricing the compensation events. as defined by GAL polices and procedures of the Company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Design to ensure information is provided to suit procurement strategy and production of record worki
ng drawings. liaise with commercial
team in the pricing of compensation events.
Maximise profitability (with direct profit and loss responsibility for project/ package) and ensure compliance with project specific documentation (such as PEP and KPI) and company specific documentation (such as the code of conduct, and contract performance procedures) as well as adherence with industry best practice
Ensure that design solutions offered fully comply with the Project Documentation within the given timeframes. Add value to the design development process by challenging solutions, methods and techniques and where appropriate to improve build ability and reduce whole life cost.
Develop a master programme and schedule of deliverables for the project that meets the requirements of the brief and the client’s expectations. Verify that work methods are sufficient to meet project objectives. Producing labour and material programmes to meet contract requirements , amending and updating periodically to ensure target dates are meet
Manage the Trade contractors (contributing to the selection of key specialists, suppliers and products) including production of working drawings, procurement, prefabrication techniques and performance on site and manage the team following the procedures, competencies/behaviours and guidelines of the company
Ensure that all works are carried out in a planned, controlled and safe manner in accordance with Statutory Regulations, current standards and Company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures/ targets. Contributing to the CDM construction phase plan where applicable.
Regularly (at least once a week) inspect works for compliance with design & specification .Report on progress, ensuring action is taken on amendments needed within agreed timelines.
Implement correct commercial control of contractors/sub contractor within pre set budget limits. Ensure that contractual /claims correspondence from contractors/sub contractors and suppliers are dealt with in an agreed timeframe, and in accordance with C&F procedures
Develop a risk register and organise reviews of it on a regular basis (at least once a week), ensuring it is updated, with risks being managed and prevented as much as possible
Ensure that compliance monitoring and change control procedures are properly used and can clearly demonstrate verification with project documentation

Ensure good communications within the project, regularly (every one to two weeks) briefing other team members and providing regular written progress reports to monitor performance, risk and opportunity management and highlight deficiencies at an early stage

Represent the Company at meetings where requested, promote the correct Company image and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area

The preparation of PFFR, Manage the preparation and submission of Applications for payment, variations and claims in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions of the project and C&F IMS procedures at the end of each month
14.
Manage and maintain all records, including dairies, letters and emails, drawing site records, computer data and all archived materials. Ensuring Compliance with the IMS procedures through out the life of the contract

Experience/Knowledge Required:
Good relevant experience as a Project Manager in the fire protection industry
Knowledge of materials, specifications & working practice used in the industry
