Senior Technical Infrastructure Consultant

A leading supplier of IT software & Managed Service solutions require a Senior Technical Infrastructure Consultant to be responsible for hosted and remotely administered customers, dealing with Design, implementation, provisioning & escalated route cause support issues.
Duties:
Design and implement new provisions into the VMWare estate
Carry out design reviews and enhance processes to provide faster ‘to market’ provisions and more cost efficient designs
Manage own workload, ensuring support logs are completed to SLA’s.
Monitor all IPMonitor alerts, managing resulting calls through to completion.
Escalate issues to the Technical Services Team Leader in advance of any conflicts occurring.
Work on project based tasks, including provisioning of new virtual environments.
Responsible for ownership of customer issues reported through to conclusion/appropriate escalation
Follow approved procedures with regard to change control and documentation standards
Provision of out of hours (weekend and evening) support via home VPN on a rota basis
Site visits to data centre and customer premises where necessary
Liaise with other business units and 3 rd parties to ensure a seamless support service.
Develop customer relationships to enhance the support service
Key Skills:
Technical knowledge of both hosted and remotely administered environments and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex Windows Server Infrastructure and application issues.
Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Active Directory Infrastructure Services
Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010
Citrix Xenapp/Xenserver 5.0/6.0/6.5 – implementation, installation, troubleshooting
Appsense deployment
Communication Skills are essential to provide the customer with efficient and accurate resolution of calls.
VMware Infrastructure administration
Network connected SAN and Clustering technologies (SAN/NAS)
Experience of data centre management
Experience in technical architecture and designing customer solutions
