To provide day to day support and guidance, across the UK Business, with regard to contractual and commercial issues.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Management of and accountability for all contract and commercial activities across Aker Subsea Limited business.
• Review of Contract Terms and Conditions proposed by potential customers, provision of appropriate qualifications/exceptions for inclusion in Tenders and taking responsibility for Pre-Contract Award negotiations.
• Provision of support and guidance to Senior Management, Department Managers and Project Managers with regard to any contractual and commercial issues that may arise, including the resolution thereof.
• Provision of support and guidance to Supply Chain Department with regard to Terms and Conditions of Contract to be used in Subcontracts, taking into account the requirements of the Main Contract and company policies and procedures.
• Conduct in-house Contract and Commercial Awareness training for Management and Supervisory personnel.
• At all times, work in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environment procedures and the Company’s Operating System.
• Provision of all necessary contracts personnel in support of execution of projects
• Other duties as assigned from time to time
• Support project close out activities and negotiations
• To be responsible for contracts & agreements with agents, joint venture partners etc.

Qualifications & personal attributes

• Degree or HNC in legal, commercial or engineering discipline.
• Relevant demonstrable experience of management of contractual and commercial terms in an Oil & Gas services environment
• Detailed understanding of contractual and commercial terms, including tax, insurance and intellectual property terms.
• Ability to evaluate contractual and commercial risk, and to formulate strategies to avoid or mitigate the risk.
• Proven ability to negotiate terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors.
• Proven ability to manage a group of people, including interviewing, recruiting and appraising of personnel.
