Our public sector client in Antrim town is looking to recruit a full time temporary Graphic Designer to join their team. The purpose of their job is to provide a comprehensive grahic design service in a co-ordinated, cost effective, efficient and corporate manner.
Responsibilities:
- To provide a comprehensive and highly creative, on and off line design and desktop publishing service to the departments and associated agencies where appropriate to include literature and publications, banners, exhibition stands etc
- To produce detailed specification briefs and liaise with printers and other suppliers to quality manage print
- To think creatively and contribute innovative ideas while working to dealines and retaining close attention to detail
- To ensure appropriate application of the council's corporate identity
- To ensure all artwork is categorised and referred in an appropriate manner
- To create and maintain an archive system for design artwork on the server
- To manage allocated resources in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure a high quality of published material
- To ensure the Apple Macintosh computer is continually updated with software updates
- To undertake such other relevant duties as may from time to time be determined
- Demonstrating a team approach to achieving the objectives of the section through full flexibility in realtion to tasks undertaken
- Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion
Essential Criteria:
- Third level qualification in Graphic design
- Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples on of one year's experience of working in a graphic designe studio or providing a coordinated, cost effective, efficient inhouse graphic design service.
- This must include one year's experience in use of the following software packages: Quark, Indesign, Freehand, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat
- Competant in the use of MAC computer
- Working knowledge of graphic design e.g adobe , photoshop , illustratorm quarkxpress
- Good presentation skills and confident to explain ideas
- Competant and able to demonstrate creativity in design projects
