Overview:
Reporting to the Process & Compliance Team Leader for Chevron Upstream Europe (CUE), this role has a broad remit covering a wide range of compliance subjects across the whole business unit – Aberdeen, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway and recently established locations in Eastern Europe. The team is responsible for ensuring CUE’s compliance with all Corporate compliance policies and procedures including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), Supplier qualification, coordinating joint venture and internal Corporate audits, managing the CUE Audit Committee process and ensuring Delegation of Authority (DoA) is effectively administered. The team also proactively identifies control risks and facilitates process improvements surrounding such risks.

Position Details:
Key Job Responsibilities for these positions:
- Offering support and guidance to the business unit on all compliance areas.
- Participate in SOX testing, including regular monthly reconciliations testing and recording of results and conclusions in SAP.
- Providing training and guidance on reconciliation standards required to increase the reconciliation competency level across CUE finance.
- Provide general support to the Compliance team regarding Joint venture, Corporate & Statutory audits – including assigned CSA (Controlled Self Assessment) work.
- Maintaining outstanding audit issues log and ensuring alignment to Corporate Audit Tracking system.
- Assist in remediating process gaps identified within Finance and the Business unit.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Compliance support to a designated European office – covering reconciliation testing & SOX compliance; including Corporate audit support & CSA work depending on Corporate audit scheduling.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant/Graduate with 5 years Oil & Gas Industry experience.
- Familiarity and knowledge of Compliance Policies & Procedures around Business Conduct & Ethics and Manual of Compliance Procedures and Guidelines.
- An attention to detail and a desire to develop knowledge on a complex range of ever changing Compliance subjects.
- Capable of working under their own initiative to improve processes and compliance awareness and equally comfortable working as part of a team.
Preferred experience:
- Expertise and experience in a range of compliance subjects e.g. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)/UK Bribery Act; DoA guidance; Non-Operated Joint Venture compliance expectations; Supplier Qualification due diligence process; conflict of interest etc.
- Well developed presentation skills to enable delivery of Compliance training to a variety of audiences.
