The primary purpose of this role is to design and deliver the environments necessary to support the roll-out of my clients Infrastructure Future Web Hosting.
The role involves working on projects with significant development aspects; this involves design of bespoke components, management of the development effort, and development work
Essential Skills:
- In depth knowledge of IIS 6, including the Metabase and APIs and technologies that can be used to manipulate it
- Experience of C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET, MVC and JavaScript
- Good knowledge of Microsoft web development technologies
- Good knowledge of IE6 & 7 browsers and general workstation configuration
- Enforcement of Workstation Setting through MS GPOs
- General knowledge of Wintel server configuration and support technologies
- Use of Public Key Infrastructure, Encryption and Certificate Authorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear design and support documentation
- Pro-active resolution of complex issues
- Working as a part of a team is an important aspect of the role, including leading resources allocated to projects and liaising both with other team members and with other Atlas teams
Desirable Skills:
- Packaging tools, Service Packs & Hotfixes (inc technologies such as Installshield, MSI, Radia)
Microsoft .Net Framework deployment strategies for server and client
- General knowledge of Security, including Group Policies, Authentication, Single Sign-on, Directory Services and Domains (i.e. MS Active Directory and Domain Controller, GPO, Domain Group Policies & Member Server Group Policies and ADAM)
- Good networking skills, including VLANs, firewalling, routing and switching
- Infrastructure Topology Strategies for Replication, Load Balancing, Clustering, Failover, Failure Recovery and Disaster Recovery
- Server & Workstation Virtualisation (including VMWare ESX or GSX)
- Device Protection (Particularly HP Protect Tools and Sanctuary SW and HW manager)
- Previous experience of Very Large delivery programmes
