Brightwater are recruiting for a number of Commercial / Corporate Relationship Managers to join a leading bank, initially on a contract basis for 12 months. Based in Belfast City Centre the puspose of these roles is to manage a portfolio of complex cases of vulnerable and impaired customers a view to identifying an appropriate strategy for both client and bank, managing and developing relationships within agreed guidelines.
Role Overview
Responsibility and accountability for intensive management of allocated complex portfolio of vulnerable and impaired borrower connections.
Management of direct reports to include objective setting; performance management; agreement of individual targets (monetary); training and coaching; such management to be undertaken in a professional caring and consistent manner, to the highest HR management standards.
Ensuring that successful recovery/loss minimisation strategies and action plans are set for all customer connections in your portfolio, seeking out innovative solutions where applicable.
Ensuring effective monitoring and control of all such action plans.
Meet all clients / key advisers and visit subject security in all cases.
Undertake a thorough review of delegated case files ensuring both good account knowledge and that they are well ordered for credit review / internal audit purposes.
Ensure timely preparation of analytical reports supporting the logic for proposed recovery strategies for all borrower connections in your portfolio.
Ensure timely preparation of quarterly discounted cash flows to identify extent of provision for loss needed , on a case by case basis in accordance with accounting standards requirements.
Ensure timely preparation of quarterly summary progress reports for all cases allocated on a case by case basis.
Daily monitoring and proactive management to minimize client account excesses and obtain relevant approval of these where necessary.
Ensure consistency with regard to the level of customer service delivered and that bank’s return is commensurate with the underlying risks.
Ensure customers are treated fairly in line with all banking code requirements / relevant legislation.
Criteria
Developed and proven technical lending and credit analysis skills.
Experience of the insolvency market ie company administrations and administrative receiverships, liquidations, pre-liquidations, consumer debt/personal insolvency/IVA’s company voluntary arrangements, Limited Liability Partnership insolvency, partnership insolvency, Law of Property Act Receiverships and voluntary administration.
Ability to write succinct and accessible credit analysis reports, articulating clearly the basis for proposed recovery strategies.
Strong ability, expertise and energy to perform across all key management areas with the ability to clearly influence and communicate direction, build a successful team and inspire others to perform to their full potential.
Superior drive and commitment to continuously improve business performance, together with an ability to prioritise, plan and measure whilst consistently delivering reliable results.
Ability to identify and analyse credit issues with the ability to create solutions/action plans based on sound judgement and dependable/critical decisions in a timely manner.
Strong and proven interpersonal, negotiation management and networking skills fostering a solution focused environment.
Proven communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external relationships, tailoring the message to the audience and ensuring the exchange of appropriate information to promote meaningful dialogue.
Capability of using own initiative, considering issues and developing appropriate solutions coupled with a proven willingness to take personal responsibility.
