Our clients are an international company, renowned for the provision of state of the art products to the oil and gas, nuclear, processing, chemical, mining and aerospace industries. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer
Main Duties
Produce mechanical designs to customer requirements using hand calculations to standards / codes, FEA design and 3D solid modeling
Initiate and develop feasible, cost effective and reliable mechanical designs from concept through to production.
Participate and contribute to design and feasibility reviews with customers, suppliers and the internal departments
Provide ongoing support for current engineering projects and produce regular progress reports
Proactively identify potential problems / implement corrective actions
Produce regular performance records for the Engineering Manager.
Assist the department with product testing and R&D activities.
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience of working in a progressive manufacturing/engineering environment within a design capacity
Practical use of FEA stress analysis a distinct advantage.
Minimum of 2 years 3D CAD experience, ideally solidworks
Must be both external and internal customer focused and an excellent communicator
Able to fully participate in cross-functional project teams
