As part of an international consortium we are
sequencing the genome of the squinting bush brown butterfly, Bicyclus anynana.
We are seeking a bioinformatician for 6 months as part of the core activities of
the consortium. This post is based within the GenePool Genomics Facility and
Professor Mark Blaxter's genomics research group, and its role is to deliver the
assembly and preliminary annotation of the 400 Mb genome of this important model

details of the project. Experience in LINUX administration, coding in a number
of languages (perl, php, java, groovy) and ability to communicate results and
discoveries to both genome informaticians and to biologists working with
Bicyclus is essential.
