Alere Technologies Ltd (ATL) is a cutting edge research, development and manufacturing organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of people suffering from chronic diseases in the home setting. Due to continued expansion, we now have various opportunities based in Stirling, Scotland for people who are accountable, courageous, like to innovate and enjoy what they do. We require dynamic self-starters to work within a high technology and high compliance environment.
Glucose Scientist (circa £22,000 plus 13% benefits package)
A strong team player, you will be comfortable working autonomously and unsupervised. You will work within the labs developing novel biosensor technology. You will perform support activities in the form of biosensor design, fabrication and testing. Self direction and experimental planning should be the norm.
Identifying opportunities for improvement in a growing and dynamic environment will come naturally, as will working in a safe compliant fashion at all times.
Ideally you will hold a degree in a relevant scientific discipline and have worked in lab environments for more than two years (industrial or academic), be self-starting and enthusiastic. You should be able to effectively carry out testing, actively contribute to the product development process and have good ocmmunication skills, as you must work well both within the team and across departments. You must also be able to travel to take part in occasional R&D offsite testing.
It is important that you are self-motivated, solution focussed and committed to exceeding expectations. You will be working in a fast pace environment that encourages innovative thinking, self-management and total role accountability. You will have a good level of numeracy, literacy and also must be able to demonstrate good computer literacy.
