Position Title Research FP&A Manager, EMEA
Job Description
Unique opportunity has arisen at the European Headquarters of Life Technologies near Glasgow for an ambitious driven individual to join the Financial Modeling and Analytics Team as a Senior Financial Analyst.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within an exciting and flourishing industry sector and work for a leading global Life Science organisation.
This is a key role within team who will support senior directors within the business.
You will be responsible for planning, forecasting and analysing revenues while managing expenses in cooperation with a Business Director.
You will ensure that senior management is provided with financial insight into business performance and market trends. The role requires the person to partner with the regional commercial sales organization as well as other support functions (Accounting, Sales Operations, Distribution, HR) to fuel the business growth, challenge the forecast position and develop a grounded Risk/Opportunity assessment.
Role

Establish a strong relationship with the commercial team to deeply understand the dynamics behind the key business drivers.
- Ensure that commercial decisions are based on strong financials, thorough discussions and shared commitment.
- Work with the Sales Director to increase financial awareness and to enable an improved understanding of financial implications of decisions.
Support and facilitate the regular and periodic forecasting cycle for both revenue and operating expenses.
- Perform accurate analysis of results and provide the leadership team with relevant insight into the regional performance, both internally and externally.
Maintain close interaction, coordination and support with the whole function within Europe to foster best knowledge sharing, process improvement and productivity.
- Lead other project-based assignments reflecting business needs and areas of experience or development.
Skills Required

Degree in a related discipline (Finance/Economics or Statistics/Econometrics, potentially even IT or Finance)
- OR:
- Equivalent work experience would be a 3 to 5 years business analyst with exposure to international markets and daily interactions with large ERP (Oracle, SAP) or Business Intelligence suites (Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion).
Flow business experience will be seen as a plus Vs project management/big ticket items background.
Possess relevant data management experience
- MS Excel advanced analytical functions (up to VBA programming is desirable)
- Demonstrate knowledge in developing commercial awareness and judgment.
- Strong analytical skills relevant to business needs
- Excellent communication and influencing skills as well as good presentation skills.
- Fluency in German is an advantage but NOT an essential.
