Job purpose:
The Senior Design Engineer shall assist the Discipline Lead Engineer in running the Flexible Design Group within Technip UK Engineering Department. The senior engineering shall perform conceptual and /or detail engineering studies based on instructions received from the discipline lead engineer and also based on the requirements specified by the project team or tendering team. He shall respect the design rules and procedures in force within Technip Group. He has to propose designs which must be economic, safe and in accordance with requirements. The senior engineer shall assist and supervise the work performed by the design engineer(s) assigned to him. In the absence of the discipline lead engineer, the senior engineer shall assume the responsibility of the lead engineer.

Engineering Degree (BSc with honours, MSc or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering
Relevant experience (5years+) in engineering and if possible related with flexible pipe design
Must have genuine interest in Engineering in the broad sense
Open communication skills are essential in order to maximise learning from fellow members
A Discipline Engineer must have both enthusiasm and diligence for both their specific field of expertise and the continuous improvement of UKBU engineering skills

Ensure that conceptual and/or detail designs are properly worked out according to the client’s requirements and to Technip engineering standards.
Co-ordinate and control the work carried out by the design engineers under his responsibility.
Perform all engineering work related to flexible flow line and riser system;

End Fitting Design
Flexible Pipe Behaviour
Dynamic Riser System optimisation and analysis
Manufacturing specification of flexible pipe
Assist Project Team in developing installation procedures.
Contribute to the consolidation of Engineering experience in discipline.
Interface with external bodies as required, e.g. design hours, certifying authorities.
