Development and application of image analysis techniques in support of the Hydrodynamics programme
Key accountabilities
- Develop and utilise image analysis software to design and diagnose explosively driven hydrodynamic experiments for comparison with computational models
- Support other areas of the business; such as National Nuclear Security
- Report and present research findings both internally and externally
Responsibilities
- Ensure understanding and accountabilities with regard to the Companys Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
- To advance the Hydrodynamics Departments image analysis capability
Qualifications
- Bsc in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or relevant scientific subject
Knowledge
- Degree level understanding of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Physics
Experience
- Experience of applied computer science/programming
- Experience of using a modelling or experimentally based approach to problems leading to practical solutions
- Experience in working as part of a team e.g. on a degree level project
- Previous experience (e.g. medical imaging) in the development and application of Image Analysis techniques (e.g. optimisation, applied statistics, tomography) is preferred
- Previous experience of object orientated programming is preferred
Skills
- Fluent in at least one programming language, e.g. C
- Computer literate: must be familiar with standard MS office packages
- Communication and presentation skills

Special Requirements
- Willingness/ability to travel overseas
