The role is within the FI Rates support group, which reports into the Global Head of Rates Technology Support (manager: Matthew Widders).
Day to day technical support of the Simpliciti/CVA applications for EMEA and North America.
Provide analytical and technical expertise within the team.
Ensure incident and problem management, change management and request fulfilment on behalf of customers are carried to the best levels possible.
Liaise with multiple technology teams (support/development/platform) to ensure levels of service are maintained, and issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
Support of offsite local trader disaster recovery and application platform disaster recovery testing.
Project based work in areas such as continuity of business testing and release co-ordination.
Understand and troubleshoot complex business and financial queries.
Cover rotating shift pattern as part of a team to cover 07:00-15:00, 11:19:00, as well as weekend on-call coverage on a rota basis.
Technology development - extensive knowledge of the Trading platform (including up and downstream systems) and the Interest Rates products and systems. These involve various technical products, platforms and skills (large amount of UNIX, Sybase/T-SQL, some shell/perl scripting, Geneos NetAgent platform monitoring). You will work closely with various development teams and gain experience in co-ordinating and working with various technologies and teams both globally and locally.
Business Development - This role is very client facing and has a large amount of interaction with Trades, Middle Office and product control, which will provide the opportunity to obtain a strong knowledge of the Fixed Income and Citi markets.
Acquire knowledge of the corporate SUN UNIX and WinTEL PC desktop environment for application deployment and delivery.
Acquire knowledge of the CitiTech compliance management policies (CITMP). Qualifications
Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products
Experience of supporting traders trading applications from a face to face or remote perspective (NOT desktop support )
Previous experience of providing support of Trading systems or financial products.
Previous experience of electronic markets.
Good UNIX (Solaris/Linux) knowledge and practical usage. (Able to navigate the system and know the core administration functions)
Good Sybase SQL knowledge and practical usage. (Able to create ad hoc SQL queries)
Good all-round PC skills. (I.e. Windows OS / Networks / General Hardware)
Strong analytical skills & attention to detail
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
