The purpose of this role is to carry out all procurement activities in the area of materials for all indirect materials for which the post-holder is responsible, with a medium to high degree of difficulty and/or larger purchase volume, with the objective of optimizing supply and generating a contribution to operating profit while taking into account optimization of the total cost of ownership
What are my responsibilities:
Preparing and conducting contract and price negotiations for medium to large volumes of indirect material commodities for area of responsibility which totals (£7m) to contribute to the profitability of the company.
Defining of procurement strategies to ensure the long-term, cost-effective supply of materials.
Implementing alternative procurement sources to minimize stock replacement times, inventory levels and costs.
Maintain regular contacts with interface partners such as Operating Purchasing managers and other internal stakeholders.
Monitoring the national and international market to bring new suppliers, product derivatives, and product innovations into the purchasing portfolio for responsible commodities.
Producing price forecasts indirect material and supply basic data for operating company and corporate planning (costing data) and reporting.
Analysing and controlling of contractual agreements to prepare renegotiations/subsequent negotiations, initiate appropriate measures and guarantee supplies.
Undertake supplier management to gain the best suppliers and guarantee an optimum supply chain utilising standard processes.
Interdisciplinary working group/project work to inform oneself, exert influence and optimize internal processes and procedures.
Liaise with SOCs in assigned UK sub-region to provide process, sourcing and benefits tracking support.
What do I need to qualify for this role:
Strong experience in Procurement and Cross functional environment.
Degree Level qualified.
CIPS qualification is preferred (or working towards CIPS accreditation/similar)
Experience of implementing Commodity strategies and Procurement Tools
Experience in facilitating cross functional teams.
Experience and exposure to various large and medium companies UK and Abroad.
