Reporting to the Safety Centre Manager and Team Leader. On occasions support the repair and service capability. The position would benefit from a self-reliant, motivated person to be able to work with the minimum of supervision.
Training
Prepare, plan, arrange and deliver training activities for customers/staff on the full range of products from the company portfolio, for example Breathing Apparatus including Air Containers, Chemical Protective Clothing, Thermal Image Cameras and Gas Detection instruments.
Prepare, plan, arrange and deliver training activities for customers/staff on other products/subjects as required by the company
Work from various premises and at customer sites and facilities.
Management of all training stock, including training materials, equipment, spare parts, tools, etc and maintaining storage and security of stock;
Repair and Service
Occasional examination, test, repair and recalibration on the full range of products from the company portfolio.
Occasional support to the Centre on UKAS accredited inspection activities
Customer liaison
Prepare, plan, arrange and provide training to customers/staff to a high standard.
Provide 'out of hours' training and service support to customers in emergencies.
Provide support to Product Sales Team as required.
Work from various premises and at customer sites and facilities
Occasional overnight stays and working in the offshore environment as required.
Education:
Vocational or educational qualifications and/or experience in the training environment would be ideal but not a necessity.
Recognised apprenticeship/training in mechanical or electrical engineering with knowledge of pneumatic/electronic systems preferable but not a necessity.
Ideal work experience:
Experience in service and repair of range of relevant equipment or similar
Experience in preparing, planning, arranging and delivering training courses
Experience in designing new training products and presentations
Ideal skills & knowledge:
Excellent technical, diagnostic and repair skills, good communication skills in English language (written and verbal), excellent inter-personal skills from an instructional perspective, and PC skills with good knowledge of MS Office would be beneficial
Full, clean driving licence

Prepared to visit client sites
Prepared for overnight stays away from home
Provide out of hours emergency telephone support for clients.
Offshore work experience and certification (preferable)
Willing to occasionally work in offshore environment
