You will carry out research into the application of pattern recognition techniques to loss-of-grid detection systems. You will work as part of a supportive team, but will be expected to be motivated and able to work independently. You should hold a PhD or equivalent experience in the following areas: grid-connected power electronic converter design, real-time control using digital signal processors, algorithm development for fast fourier transforms and pattern recognition systems, analysis with MatlabSimulink, software and hardware development. An extensive experience of C language programming for embedded control is essential. An ability to design and test practical converter hardware systems is highly desirable.
