MAIN FUNCTION OF THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Tyco Fire Protection Services (TFPS) EMEA Internal Communications Manager, the purpose of the role is to contribute to the planning and delivery of the Internal Communications Plan in the UK & Ireland, developing an understanding of the relevant business units, target audiences and taking responsibility for a range of existing and new internal publications and communication vehicles (online and offline).
Working with the team, you will strive to continually evaluate and improve our resources and communication vehicles for all employees, regardless of role and location, whilst bringing new and innovative ideas to the table.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
To assist in the research, writing, proofing and editing of regional and national internal publications; including the employee newsletter, online quarterly business updates, the Health & Safety newsletter, Women's Growth Network newsletter, etc.
To use own initiative to source and update business news across the regions to update intranet content and for possible use on the external website for PR.
Develop new and exciting ways to utilise the intranet software to its full potential, including a full intranet product review and audience research
Ensure consistent, honest and open communications throughout the business
To develop reliable and strong relationships with employees across the country to encourage involvement and engagement in company initiatives.
To assist in the creation of presentation material as part of the UK & Ireland's team briefing strategy.
Ensure publication deadlines and format requirements are met; in line with the internal employee branding guidelines.
Assist in the research of different communication methods and their costs
Contribute to the logistics of regional and national charity sponsorship events
Work alongside other teams in Tyco to develop best practise and engagement in our internal social media platform, Yammer.
Work alongside other colleagues to promote involvement, interaction and participation in diversity groups within the business
Assist the TFPS EMEA Internal Communications Manager with the CSR policy
To build up strong internal relationships with members of the Leadership Team and Regional / Operational Management
To provide additional support to the Marketing and Communications department in relation to conferences and events
To help to maintain a video and photo library on the Tyco Digital Asset Management System
Ad hoc projects and additional administration duties, including assisting with stationary requirements, promotional items and team purchase orders
Work closely with all members of the Marcomms and Strategy Department to align messaging and campaigns from an external and internal perspective
Work with other global Internal Communication specialists outside of the UK & Ireland to share best practise and news.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL CRITERIA:
Good research skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
Enthusiasm for high quality service delivery
Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
Some communications experience (e.g. a year) would be preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent level of computer literacy
Highly proficient in using Microsoft Packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience of using design software such as Indesign and Photoshop, or the willingness and ability to learn
