The post of Senior Technical Consultant developer is to develop technical solutions and tooling and provide consultancy and technical support for projects in the area of Terminology and data standards to meet needs in line with NHS requirements. The post holder would be expected to deliver technical solutions and support within Data Standards and Products as requested by the Technical Development Lead. A high degree of technical knowledge and skill is required as the role is predominantly that of developer. Knowledge of the data products and core technical areas within the DS&P area is also required.

Demonstrable Skills and over three years experience in at least three of the following is essential: Subversion/Nexus/Archiva Hudson/Maven Java/XML technologies and programming Thin Client/web technology Desirable additional skills from the following: Terminology data experience in SNOMED CT/READ/Classifications/Data Dictionary RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL) Administration in a development environment Unix/Linux/Windows OS Administration in a development environment Shell Scripting SQL/TSQL/PLSQL Scripting The post holder will be required to interact with both internal and external parties. The post holder will be required to manage the delivery of assigned projects to agreed timescales and ensure that progression, issues and risks are reported promptly to the Technical Development Lead. The role is part of a team that has a remit to develop data standard and terminology solutions at the forefront of international Terminology standards. The incumbent will be expected to develop new skills and capabilities as the needs of the role change.
