Due to continued growth, our client, a renowned food manufacturer, require outstanding leaders to join their site in West Wales. We are looking for candidates capable of leading a shift from the front, pre-empting problems before they arise whilst seeking solutions to make the site more efficient.
Working as part of a shift management team, covering the fresh meat prep and packing, the successful applicants will share responsiblity for the day to day running of the production facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily reporting of KPIs and contributing to daily management meetings.
- Monitoring of production to ensure that the production remains cost effective.
- Ensuring that all products are produced on time, in full and are of exceptional quality.
- Ensuring all necessary production paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Calculating and adjusting human and material resources required, to ensure excellent service levels with sustainable productivity.
- Supervising and motivating of all the production teams.
- Reviewing performance & identifying training needs for all production staff.
- Supporting other departments in drafting manufacturing timescales, estimating costs and setting quality standards.
- Working with the wider team to implement the company's policies and goals; and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of production management in a highly pressurised food environment. Ideally this experience will have been gained within the meat industry but candidates with strong experience of other chilled products will also be considered. Applicants should have further experience in implementing efficiency improvements and ensuring adherence to quality and safety policies.
You will boast excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills, including the ability to recognise training and development needs. You should also be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the technical and quality aspects of food production, have a proven ability to interpret and manipulate data for production purposes and offer evidence of effective analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. The post holder will have to be commercially aware, with a strong understanding of profitability. They will also have to be proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and the internet
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a basic salary in the region of £30,000 (dependant on experience).
