Our Belfast City based Client is a major manufacturing player who fabricates huge Industrial components for cutting edge exploration industries. On behalf of this Client we have been tasked to source a Sub Contract Procurement Engineer. You must have a HNC or above in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline. You should have experience of working in a similar buyer/ procurement role.
The Role
You will be responsible for issuing enquiries, selecting suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensure commercial, quality and on-time delivery targets are achieved
You will ensure the best commercial terms on costs, frameworks and contracts.
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contratual requirements through use of Microsoft projects Plans
Comply with health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
Measure Performance of existing suppliers with other possible global opportunities
You will, when necessary, travel to Scotland, China and Asia to meet with Suppliers and Customers. You will influence positive results by using your excellent negotiation skills.
The Person
You will have an engineering qualification and at lesat 1-2 years experience of operating in a similar role. Ideally you will have experience of purchasing fabricated machine parts globally.
You will have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence others and engage in meaningful and powerful dialogue with colleagues, senior management, Customers and Suppliers.
You will be a good communicator who can establish new relationships globally.
You will have the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
You will have a working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Microsoft Project
Candidates with a working knowledge of MRP/ ERP systems and ISO quality systems may have an advantage
