Our client is a civil engineering main contractor with projects across the UK, they have recently won a large civil engineering biased project in South Wales and are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join them on a permanent basis to work on the project.
Due to the nature of the work involved my client will only consider candidates with a strong knowledge of civil engineering works, candidates will have worked on excavation, piling and earthworks preferably in water, airports or power stations.
Going forward candidates will have further civil engineering orientated work to move on to, ranging from airports, water and power plant projects through to roads, rail & infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Supporting the internal construction team and pro-actively advising on Health & Safety issues that come up.
Enforcing all company Health & Safety best practices and policies.
Incorporating all Health &Safety procedures in order to protect employees, the general public & visitors.
Monitoring Health & Safety requirements against minimum performance targets.
Risk assessments & method statement review.
Undertaking weekly and adhoc inspections and submitting written reports to the senior management team.
Incident management for injuries, accidents & near misses.
Experience Required
NEBOSH Construction qualified
CSCS
Previous civil engineering experience is essential
Direct experience of working as a site based Health & Safety Manager / Advisor.
