WAREHOUSE TEAM MANAGER X 12 – (PERMANENT)
ROCHDALE / ASDA / GREATER MANCHESTER

We have 12 exciting vacancies which have arisen to initially support the start up of a new Asda Distribution Centre in Rochdale as a Superuser for the warehouse management system (GLS); supporting training of the system, then following start up the role will be a functional Warehouse Team Manager.

The Role:

• Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Operations Managers;
• To manage the operation within your daily area of responsibility, managing a team of warehouse colleagues;
• Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI’s for the purpose of ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to stores;
• To manage and motivate the team by giving direction and leadership, monitoring performance to ensure the depot achieves high performance levels;
• To ensure operational targets are met on a weekly and monthly basis;
• To provide accurate daily information to enable an effective handover;
• Proactively encourage positive and constructive relationships on site with the union and union representatives;
• Ensure the warehouse complies with health and safety regulations
• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department

The Person:

• Experience of working within a warehouse environment;
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems;
• Proven experience of supervising / managing a team;
• Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines;
• A good communicator both verbal and written;
• Excellent PC skills;
• A great team based approach;
• General awareness of health and safety;
• Focused and driven by success;
• Embrace the culture of the site;

The above position will include shift and weekend work as the depot operates 24 /7 therefore, it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work.
