To participate in the definition, planning, execution and reporting of product and component test programmes.

MAIN DUTIES

To be capable of specifying, designing and implementing test programmes in a timely manner under the direction of senior technical staff.

Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner and that appropriate risk assessments have been done.

Lead the creation of appropriately detailed system test procedures and methods with clearly defined pass / fail criteria.

Report progress of the execution of the testing procedures and the testing status.

Manage the assembly, collation, and analysis of test results. Produce a clear and detailed test report for each project at the end of the testing work to formally publish the results.

Analyse any problems raised with the procedures and processes of the system testing and where required create a plan for achieving continuous improvement.

Instruct and direct technicians, seconded personnel and customers assisting in the test validation programmes and monitor their work on a day to day basis.

To liaise with suppliers and sub-contracts on the procurement and specification of components and services required for the validation programmes.

To participate in, and contribute to, technical reviews, project reviews and product audit reviews in line with the Product Creation Process.

Ensure products and components completing a test programme are safe, reliable and meet the customer specification and expectation.

Qualifications / Experience Test

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to degree level in scientific or technical subject such as engineering or physics

Good interpersonal skills - successful candidate will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary, often cross-organisational, project team

Numerate, self motivated team player with innovative and versatile qualities

The following are desirable skills and could be achieved via training in the role.

An understanding of holistic systems testing principles, supported by a knowledge of industry wide accepted techniques

Good communication skills with ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations to a high standard

Good report writing skills
