As a Buying Manager, your role will be to create profitable customer driven ranges and promotions to deliver sales and margin targets and ensure your buying plan supports a group of products to support the delivery of the customer plan and promises of 'I can get what I want' and 'the prices are good'.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Ensure your buying plan supports delivery of the customer plan
- Hit sales and margin targets and then beat them
- Have a great range which gives customers a reason to shop with us across all store formats and all trading formats
- Develop your supplier base to achieve competitive advantage
- Negotiate product cost to continually drive down costs for our customers
- Plan and negotiate market leading promotions
- Use the exit process to optimise sell through and minimise exit costs
- Always try to make things simpler for stores
- Deliver against the critical path
Candidate Specification:
The successful individual will have Buying experience within a multi site retail consumer business, along with an understanding of country and global supply chain processes. You will have strong leadership skills with the ability to manage the performance of others. You will also be able to demonstrate a successful track record of buying products and have an understanding of fabric/garment construction.
