We are currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer to join a specialist manufacturer at their facility on the outskirts of greater Belfast.
The opportunity is a key role and will require a “hands on” approach to the design and assembly of products. The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer are as follows:
- Provide ongoing support to the manufacturing process to ensure economic manufacturing to the correct build standard.
- The preparation/updating of new/existing manufacturing documentation and tooling required for product manufacture.
- Management of 3D models, drawings and CNC program control.
- The generation/update as required of the production BOM’s.
- Monitoring of output and productivity within the engineering department.
- The agreement and specification of design requirements for new products.
- Management of manufacturing process for new products.
- Exploration and investigation of new equipment and processes.
- Management of installation, verification and commissioning of new equipment.
- Identification and implementation of all health and safety aspects for new equipment.
- Provision of hands-on leadership, direction and motivation for new product introduction.
- Assistance with development of new designs and modifications to existing products and supervision of their implementation.
- Promote the company Health and Safety policy and practices in all areas of the working environment
The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have the following skill/experience:
- Be educated to a third level in an Engineering discipline or have at least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to demonstrate both technical and problem solving experience.
- A sound knowledge of engineering manufacturing/fabrication techniques ideally in the light to medium sheet metal fabrication industry.
- Excellent communication and IT skills with particular emphasis on 3D CAD modelling.
