Position: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER / PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Location: LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE
Salary: £neg excellent salary above average for the role.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER / PRODUCTION ENGINEER to work for a prestigious multi-site business who specialise within the design and manufacture of one off high priced products.
To prepare manufacturing process routings, CNC programs and to design jigs & fixtures to ensure component parts are machined using a safe, efficient & productive process. To investigate ways to continually improve methods and processes of manufacture.
Accountabilities:
To ensure process plannings accurately reflect drawing, B.O.M and Quality plan requirements.
To produce CNC programs and select suitable tooling which manufacture the component to drawing requirements.
To design & arrange quotations and manufacture of jigs and fixtures to ensure components are machined to drawing in a safe and efficient manner.
To investigate ways to continually improve methods and processes of manufacture by liaising with Product Design Engineering, workshop staff and tooling suppliers.
Statistics:
To accurately calculate machining process times for both in-house & sub-contract purposes.
To produce work to planned start and machine shop schedule dates.
Assignment review and approval of work:
Industrial Engineering work is not generally reviewed, approved or checked unless the engineer is a new starter or inexperienced. Utilize verification software using Vericut
Decision Making Authority:
To determine correct machine tool for manufacture.
To determine correct tooling & process for a particular feature or process.
Report Preparation:
Occasional investigation report (F.P.R or N.C.R) for example.
Six Sigma work.
Occasional A.F.E preparation
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Ideally time-served apprenticeship with a minimum of ONC or equivalent.
Minimum levels of software knowledge are: SAP , Autocad , Edgecam , Inventor 3 D modeling & tooling models,, Vericut , Microsoft office suite ,Wintool, tooling management , machine control systems
