Sales and Operations:
To assist with maximising store sales and profit by ensuring the efficient and effective management, to Company standards, of the commerciality, merchandising, replenishment and housekeeping across all sales areas including the warehouse and stockroom, security office and training and recruitment through:

Maintaining a full understanding of, and implementing Company objectives i.e. Sales Force Direction document, stockroom objectives
Ensuring the achievement of a high standard of customer service throughout the sales floors
Identifying and resolving problem areas within the store
Effective control and management of man-hours within the store to meet the needs of the business
Ensuring stock loss is controlled and kept to a minimum
Ensuring appropriate systems are set up and maintained in the warehouse/stockroom in order to replenish sales floors efficiently
Ensuring that recruitment, training and development needs are addressed to a high standard
Ensuring security staff are utilised effectively and that all Company security procedures are adhered to at all times

Team Management:
To coach, motivate and develop the store sales team to achieve personal and store objectives through:

Effectively communicating and ensuring all sales and operations staff adhere to all Company policies and procedures
Identifying the training and development needs of the Sales Managers, Department Managers and Supervisors within the store
Ensuring performance management issues are identified and addressed using the traffic light process
Ensuring reviews and appraisals are conducted on all teams

Planning and Organisation:
To assist the General or Store Manager in managing controllable expenditure within the store i.e. man-hours.
To communicate effectively with the General or Store Manager to ensure key information is passed up and down the line.
To effectively oversee key events within the store such as Christmas, sales, bank holidays and stock-take.
Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to and maintained at all times (evidence of Personal Safety Evaluation being completed).
To carry out additional duties as and when required, i.e., to manage the store and attend events in the absence of the Store or Assistant Store Manager.
