LOCUM STAFFGRADE COMMUNITY PAEDIATRICIAN

Applications are invited for the above post to take up appointment from 1st June, 2012 for initial six months. This is a ten Programmed Activities post.

The post holder will be responsible for provision of community paediatric services to a geographical patch in or around Northampton including some assessments within the child development centre. The post holder will play a lead role in providing paediatric care for children in local schools for children with learning difficulties. The post holder will also join a rota for safeguarding children.

The post holder will a team of community Paediatricians working in integrated Child Health Directorate, including acute paediatrics, neonatology, childrens community nursing, audiology, respite care and physiotherapy. The Directorate provides services to the children and young people of Northampton town and South Northamptonshire with clinical contacts occurring within the hospital and at various community locations.

The terms and conditions of the service are those currently specified for the NHS by the General Whitley Council Regulations applicable to SAS appointments. There will be prospective cover during absence from work (study, annual and sickness leave). There will be up to a maximum of 10days study leave per annum pro rota.

The offer of the post to the successful candidate will be subject to occupational and enhanced CRP clearance. They are also expected to fulfill college requirement for CBD.

Northampton is the county town of Northamptonshire and the town and countryside is a pleasant area to work and live in. There is a selection of state and private schools available and an excellent range of sporting, recreational and adult education facilities (including a new University). There are efficient road and rail links to London, Birmingham and international airports.
