SSE's Onshore Wind Team is a dynamic and fast growing part of SSE Generation. We work across the whole of the UK and Ireland operating and maintaining the SSE wind fleet. To do this effectively we need staff who are highly capable, motivated and flexible in their approach to work.
This role will involve ensuring the highest level of health, safety and environmental protection on SSE Wind farms whilst ensuring long-term integrity of the wind farm turbines by maintaining assets on site.
You'll participate in turbine maintenance (including scheduled maintenance and fault rectification) update maintenance management system - Maximo, assist with the development of work instructions, risk assessments and provide back up for other wind farms, including weekend work on a rota basis.
This role will also assist with the management of spares inventory for out of warranty sites and provide additional support to the Operational Teams as required.
Successful candidate will have held an apprenticeship as an electrician/mechanic or fitter.
Previous experience working on wind turbines would be advantages combined with general experience of servicing, troubleshooting and modifying high technology plant.
You'll have an understanding and or qualification in aerodynamics, mechanical/electrical engineering principles and hydraulics and experience of using IT systems and applications.
