Our Client is the UK-based subsidiary of a major International Defence Contractor. Its Glenrothes facility produces low to medium volume, high mix, high reliability, Electronic Circuit Card Assemblies and Systems.
The job:
We are looking for a degree qualified engineer with significant experience in an electronics manufacturing environment to provide advice and guidance on our clients manufacturing processes in a high reliability electronics manufacturing industry e.g. military, aerospace or automotive electronics environment.
The main purposes of this role are:
Providing detailed flow line and cell manufacturing layouts
Designing and providing new or upgraded detailed factory, line and cell layouts using AutoCAD or similar
Providing innovative solutions to material and product handling methods and equipment
Providing optimisation of current assembly lines using work flow analysis, time and motion study, Ergonomics and Human Factors
Providing analysis of current processes using simulation tools, value stream mapping, and data analysis
Qualifications and experience:
Degree in an Engineering science e.g. any of the following Electronics, Mechanical Physics, Manufacturing Systems or Industrial Engineering
Significant experience in an low to mid volume high mix electronics manufacturing environment
Good understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing techniques
Work study competence (qualification and / or experience)
PC literate mainly Microsoft Office
Permanent or 6 month contract.
