Reagent Scientist (circa £30,000 plus 13% benefits package)
You will be working as part of a team responsible for the full lifecycle of scientific projects leading to the launch of home diagnostic prodcuts. You will be familiar with assay development in a highly regulated environment. You will be utilizing your skills and knowledge for the implementation of experimental development plans contributing to the successful launch of an electrochemical immunoassay. You will be providing the design and co-ordination of testing.
You will need to have experience in formulation and optimization of complex biological buffers. IVD industry experience is essential as is advanced understanding of protein and conjugation chemistry and the iterative process of product development in accordance with design and control.
We are looking for the job holder t ideally hold a degree in a relevant scientific area and have experience working in a lab based environment for a minimum of 5 years. Other desirable qualities include experience in electrochemical/fluorescence detection, operation of complex lab equipment such as FPLC and HPLC and also experience in process/product validation.
It is important that you are self-motivated, solution focussed and committed to exceeding expectations. You will be working in a fast pace environment that encourages innovative thinking, self-management and total role accountability. You will have a good level of numeracy, literacy and also must be able to demonstrate good computer literacy.
