Security Clearance: Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
Our client, who has sites in Kent, South Hampshire and Wiltshire, is the centre of scientific excellence for the MOD. Housing one of the largest groups of scientists and engineers in the country their task is to ensure that the UK Armed Forces and Government are supported by world-class scientific advice. They have a requirement for a Vetronics Engineer (Vehicle Engineer Electronics) qualified to at least HNC (or equivalent) standard.
The Survivability Systems and Technology team within the Land Battlespace Systems Department is responsible for providing the MOD with advice on and assessment of survivability systems and electronic architectures for land based platforms.
An experienced engineer or applied scientist with a record of end-to-end programme delivery is required to enhance our systems architecture capabilities. The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary group of civilian engineers/scientists and serving military officers.
The role involves providing systems architecture advice and consultancy to internal and external customers and stakeholders and to represent the MOD and provide advice to working groups, standards committees and participate in international collaboration. The successful candidate will influence important military projects and programmes that relate to personnel, vehicles and bases, develop standards, and participate in field trials and demonstrations.
Suitable candidates will possess demonstrable systems engineering and knowledge of vehicle systems architectures, real time software and interoperability. Ideally candidates will possess Vehicle electronics (Vetronics) and/or Applied Technology programmes experience, coupled with experience of land based military platforms and programmes.
