Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer skilled in product design, engineering and analysis with particular capabilities in 3D CAD environments. This requirement has surfaced as the company are currently expanding the Aberdeen office.
Our clients primary design software is SolidWorks which is used for all modelling and detail drawing production. All seats of the software are SolidWorks Premium in order to take advantage of FEA techniques in the design of our products.
You will be a key member of our engineering team being the focal point for design and development of our products. Working closely with other engineers, analysis engineers and drafters you will be involved in taking products from initial concept through to final build, test and delivery.
The role requires the interpretation of requirements to establish a design basis with the subsequent development of the requirements into fully functioning designs. In addition the role involves the creation of associated calculations, test procedures and other supporting documentation as required. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator able to liaise effectively with colleagues, the projects department, customers and other 3rd parties. A sound understanding of manufacturing techniques would be an advantage.
Our clients equipment covers a range of disciplines mainly in mechanical and structural engineering with elements of hydraulic controls providing a challenging and interesting environment in which to apply engineering and CAD skills.

The right candidate will be highly proficient in 3D CAD software with a sound knowledge of the capabilities of 3D design and the knowledge and experience to efficiently produce high quality output from the initial concept through to detailed design.
Minimum degree qualified, ideally with in the oil & gas industry. Experience with FEA & MathCad would be beneficial. Experience in the design of machined & fabricated components is required along with experience in tolerancing, and checking of manufacturing drawings.
