My client is a large Blue Chip Financial Services organisation,
and we are currently recruiting for an Environment & Release
Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful
applicant will work within Middle Office Technology as the
Environments & Release Manager supporting the non-production
environments. They will also be responsible for co-ordinating
releases into production.
Requirements;
- Excellent: Windows Server, MQ
- Good: SQL - (SQL Server & Oracle)
- Desirable: Windows Scripting, UNIX (including Scripting), Fiserv,
Control M Scheduling, File Transfer methodologies, HP Quality
Centre
- Broad Technical experience
- Experience managing Multiple Environments
- Ability to interact with users - Business Analysts, project
managers, developers, testers, and support staff
- Good communication skills - may be required to chair meetings,
produce minutes and track actions.
- Good organisational skills, strong problem solving skills, a good
understanding of systems processing, and attention to detail
The Successful Candidate;
- Flexibility - able to work evenings and weekends on
occasion.
- Experience documenting existing environment and configuration
setup
- Experience managing and troubleshooting environmental
issues
- Ability to interrogate Windows Event Viewer, other log files and
database to determine the cause of Environment issues.
- End to end experience of the Software Development Life cycle in a
structured environment
- Experience in hands-on deployment of releases and changes to
large systems
- Experience of Change Management, raising Change Requests
- Experience of creating Implementation Plans/Run books
- Experience working with and mentoring team members in multiple
locations
