- To be part of the internal link between R&D, the Production Process and the Supply Chain.
- To be responsible for ensuring the quality of all delivered parts by liaising with suppliers.
- To be 1st line escalation for Andon Synchronised Production Flow system
Principle Elements:
- Maintain a close interface with the Production & Logistics Managers to be responsible for:
- First line resolution of electronic technical or quality problems arising with Systems and/or accessories in the production process
- To support the improvement in Synchronised Production Flow processes and Lean manufacturing methods to optimise efficiency.
- To support the design and development of Jigs and/or fixtures and production aids to enable quality consistency and shortest assembly/test times.
- Assist in a technical capacity on issues of internal and external quality.
- Assist with resolving quality issues identified with both internal & external suppliers
- To support the development of the Lean manufacturing production process.
- Identify & propose changes to design and influence the design process for new parts to ensure the most cost effective manufacturing process and the lowest overall product costs are achieved to the required specification.
- Regular attendance & active involvement with the daily meetings and quality table
- Maintain the relevant quality systems as directed by the Production Engineering and QA Engineering Manager
- Support R&D on all relevant electronic & mechanical projects to provide input & assistance with design & cost optimization whilst maintaining acceptable quality standards.
- Support Purchasing & R&D to establish a technical & quality interface with relevant external suppliers thus ensuring regular communications to achieve:
- Consistent supplier quality to a defined and acceptable specification.
- Identification of and development of action plans to reduce the cost of product supplied.
- Help build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Evaluation and development of new, high quality, low cost or strategic suppliers.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate performance and quality measures as agreed with the Production Engineering and QA Engineering Manager.

- Educated to HND level In Electronic Engineering or related
EXPERIENCE
- Logical fault finding & correction of electronic systems
- Quality principles, 8D,5Y
- Industrial experience
- Analogue & digital electronic design
- Practical experience of design, building and testing of systems
- Good understanding & experience of implementing of Design for manufacture and to cost constraints
- Interfacing with software and mechanics

ADDITIONAL
- We need someone who has 'hands on' hardware fault finding experience - someone who gets things working when they don't.
- Someone who deals with suppliers but on a technical level as the suppliers are building the items.
- Someone who knows all about and has been involved with test rigs and fixtures and design and building.
- Worked with oscilloscopes, generators, measuring equipment and analysis.
- Someone used to working with R&D in the early stages of a project what used to be called 'design for manufacture'. So advising them in the early stages.
- This could be a lab technician level type person but with lots more experience and greater qualifications.
