We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate (RA) to work on the EPSRC funded “Sticky Policy Based Open Source Security APIs for the Cloud” under the supervision of Professor Chadwick. The RA will be responsible for the development of the open source APIs in the Python language, for integration into the Open Stack cloud computing platform. The RA will also participate in the design of the APIs and in the writing of academic papers along with Professor Chadwick.
The Person
You will hold a Good BSc or higher degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with experience of at least three of the following: databases, TCP/IP communications protocols, Apache web servers, Shibboleth/SAML and web services. You will have knowledge of internet security mechanisms and knowledge and practical experience of the PERMIS authorisation infrastructure. With experience of teaching or supervising students you will be a Python programmer with good communication skills, spoken and written. You will possess the ability to write user documentation and scientific papers and be capable of working in a team. An enthusiasm for research is essential for this position.
