Based at Nafferton Farm in the Tyne Valley or on campus in central Newcastle, You will assist in research on organic and outdoor pig farms, servicing 2 research projects; reducing the environmental impact of organic pig production and studying the impact of management on carcase composition. Duties will centre on gathering production information and samples from organic and outdoor pig farms around the country and maintaining the resulting database. Experience of pig science, collecting samples and analysis is essential as is the use of databases and spreadsheets, the ability to work as part of a team and workcarefully with attention to detail.
The post is for 12 months.
