Job Purpose:
Working with one the other Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for for the Accenture payrolls in UK approx. 10,000 employees and in Ireland approx. 1,500 employees.

You will supervise and have day-to-day responsibility of half the Payroll Analyst Team approximately 7 people to ensure payroll deadlines are met. You will provide advice and assist team members on correct procedures and help with any problems they may have, especially when they have more complex queries.

Key Responsbilities :
Checking of the Payroll to ensure Accenture employees are paid correctly and that statutory and internal obligations are met. In addition to ensure that instructions to the Payroll Production Team are clear and concise for payroll input.

Check all BACS releases (weekly ad-hoc runs, net pay) for UK, Ireland payrolls.

Signing off emergency payments under £10,000.

Check and Sign off the 3

Party payments, this includes checking BACS release and uploading files to the appropriate BACS servers for payment. Also providing the Accounts team with reconciliation of third party payments. This ensures all third parties (Government bodies, pensions etc) are paid on time as we have to adhere to statutory deadlines.

Take on responsibility for the Sarbanes Oxley Controls within Accenture to liaise with the Global team each quarter with regards to evaluation, testing and supplying of data

Opportunity to work with the business on TUPE deals (transferring of staff to Accenture); Payroll System upgrades around Accenture customisations and statutory updates; ad-hoc project work .

Take responsibility for certain projects (as designated by the Payroll Manager) and project manage them through to completion - liaising with a number of different teams across the business both at local and global level.

Query escalation resolution.

There is no budget responsibility.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Degree educated or relevant work experience

Ideally the successful candidate will have the CIPP Diploma in Payroll or at least be studying this.

Skills and experience

In depth experience working in a payroll department, with experience of working at a supervisory/senior level.

Up to date knowledge of Statutory Payroll Legislation.

Tax compliance - e.g Redundancy and Statutory Compromise agreements, payments after leaving

Payroll Year end Procedures

TUPE (required for outsourced payrolls, transferring onto Accenture payroll).

Knowledge of Irish payroll legislation would be advantageous

Methodical and Analytical skills

Ability to use own initiative

Accurate and numerate

Supervisory skills and delegation.

Ability to work under extreme pressure and still be able to prioritise work to ensure quality and productive output
