A start-up hedge fund are looking to hire an experienced Java developer to join their outfit. The venture is fully backed, and no further initial investment is being sought, but they require a Java expert to help construct their high-frequency trading system.
The successful candidate will join what will initially be a small team, and as such will play a vital and varied role within the company. Initially they will be working on an entirely greenfield high-frequency trading system, and must be comfortable in the entire development lifecycle - contributing to design and architecture, working with quants, developing greenfield code, familiarising with new asset classes, and deploying live trading systems.
Essential requirements:
Expert Java - excellent core understanding and low-level programming experience
Experience of low-latency, high throughput systems
Strong UNIX and shell scripting
Strong Scala
Previous finance experience is NOT required.
