This role is part of the Creative Services team, which supports the Marketing teams across the business. It is a permanent Designer role, but we are always looking for talented freelancers too.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Design
Managing the process from inception, through design to production for allocated projects within the Commercial Division for the EMI Catalogue and New Music labels
Carry out research and utilise findings to ensure that the end product connects with the target audiences and desired market
Consistently design to a high standard
Push design skills and continually explore different routes for all projects
Keep abreast of current design trends and implement these accordingly into your own work
Maintain good attention to detail at all times
Communication & Relationships
Liaise, and build good working relationships, with all internal and external contacts including Product Managers, Production, Artists, Photographers, Design and Reprographic Houses, Photographic Libraries and Freelance Designers
Ensure that design ideas are communicated clearly (in writing and verbally)
Time Management
Ensure timely supply of artwork to meet scheduled release dates
Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines with patience
Be highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload
Maintain a schedule of work to ensure that work is completed within the requested time frame
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Previous design experience ideally within a media environment / small design studio with media client base
An outstanding portfolio of work
A sound knowledge of the Apple Mac environment, with a strong understanding of all the relevant software packages, i.e. Quark X-Press, In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand etc
Comprehensive knowledge of all printed design aspects, particularly with reprographics
The ability to keep pace within a changing, dynamic environment
To be self-starter with drive, initiative and passion
To be a pro-active team player and help with the day to day running of a busy department
To be passionate about design and music
To have the ability to remain calm under pressure
Desirable
Experience or understanding of the function of marketing, and the day to day pressures facing a busy marketing department would be helpful
Some knowledge of web-based design will be useful, but is not essential
