Join one of the most elite teams within a top five global investment bank. The bank, headquartered in London, are hiring for their cash equities proprietary systematic algorithmic trading team - who operate as an internal hedge fund with all the backing of a global investment bank building systematic black box trading models. They build fully automated systematic algo trading strategies using C++ on Linux involving very low latencies, and excellent technology is the key to the desk's profitability. Low-latency is a key competitive advantage for the strategies - with market data event to order submission being measured in microseconds. The strategies send millions of orders per day, so scalability and stability is vitally important.
As the group expands into more products and markets they have a need for highly skilled C++ developers who can deliver high speed trading products. There is lots of new work to be done and new projects to get stuck into, and it's one of the most interesting and challenging groups within any bank in London. The role will offer lots of business exposure alongside amazing technology, and the people in the team are all real techies who are passionate about their work.
Technical requirements:
Strong C++ is the key requirement
It's a heavily Linux environment so they have a preference here
K / Q / KDB would be of interest but is by no means essential, as is Python
Personal requirements:
A love for technology. "People who code because they're interested in it". Things like personal projects, books, blogs, conferences etc. will look good
Junior-mid level, someone who is eager to learn and they can build up
They're not worried about finance/banking experience, the technology is the most important thing - although this could be beneficial
