Manager, Edinburgh - 28 January 2018
As a non commercial organisation it can be tough to motivate people with relatively low salaries and vague targets, however most people are passionate about working for Scotland. Colleagues are generally fun and professional but their is an element of bitterness amongst longer serving staff that can make it difficult to move or change anything. It's a great place to get some excellent career experience but would be difficult to justify staying long term for career advancement. Management is generally a mixed bag and struggle to work together. Your experience in the organisation therefore is reliant a bit on who you report to. Overall the exposure to both government offices and Scottish businesses is fantastic making it a great networking opportunity.
