I had 3 different managers whilst I was there over a time period of a year! Unfairly distributed hours and no loyalties to their staff. Very unfair work load so certain individuals could have a chat/gossip and let everyone else do the work.
Membership Consultant (Current Employee) – Lincolnshire – 16 November 2017
Good company to work for and had great training. If you put the work in you receive great commission. Day to day tasks include admin, inreach - talking to members and building rapport to generate leads. Outreach tasks would include going to different companies in the area. Tour people round the club and establish the potential members needs and go through the different prices. Management in the club is fantastic and happy to work alongside a great bunch of people.
Group exercise instructor (Current Employee) – London – 10 November 2017
place with great potential but not much training its provided and you have absolutely no support from the management team.in another words you have to follow the confusing company rules but you are on your own.
Personal Coach (Former Employee) – Aldersgate – 1 November 2017
Virgin charge their clients £70 an hour for Personal training and give their trainers £12 an hour for it !!?? This is not fair considering it is the trainer who does all the work and secures clients in the first place. Their excuse is that this is to "motivate" their trainers. What a joke!
front of house staff (Former Employee) – Twickenham – 20 October 2017
great work place, give you free gym membership. only down side is that the hours are shift based and long hours. And the pay is very weak for front of house staff. only department that pays well is Sales.
Crèche Assistant (Former Employee) – Twickenham, Greater London – 30 August 2017
Virgin active is a great company to work for. With the right attitude you can progress into other areas of the club and develope skills you never knew you had. The management are all about personal progression which is a really reassuring feeling. Would highly recommend for those full of energy and ready to join a team who treat you like part of them family.
Duty Manger, Lifeguard and Reception Duties (Former Employee) – croydon – 28 August 2017
The management don't care about staff, minimal trainings given, little care in cleaning, and pool tests, overall very dull boring and management make it stressful, lifeguards don't get breaks quick enough.
Developed communication skills between colleagues and parents of children. Planned and carried out fun activities, which targeted children’s development and needs. The work place aimed to promote professional team working.
