Lovely environment but bad management
Junior Activities Assistant (Former Employee) –  Nottingham9 December 2017
I had 3 different managers whilst I was there over a time period of a year! Unfairly distributed hours and no loyalties to their staff. Very unfair work load so certain individuals could have a chat/gossip and let everyone else do the work.
Pros
free gym membership
Cons
unfairly distributed hours

Membership Consultant (Current Employee) –  Lincolnshire16 November 2017
Good company to work for and had great training. If you put the work in you receive great commission. Day to day tasks include admin, inreach - talking to members and building rapport to generate leads. Outreach tasks would include going to different companies in the area. Tour people round the club and establish the potential members needs and go through the different prices.
Management in the club is fantastic and happy to work alongside a great bunch of people.
Pros
Commission

Greeting customers and taking phone calls, whilst booking classes and getting to know the members. I learned what it was to become part of a workplace family. Not always valued as an employee.

Personal Trainer
Personal Coach (Former Employee) –  Aldersgate1 November 2017
Virgin charge their clients £70 an hour for Personal training and give their trainers £12 an hour for it !!?? This is not fair considering it is the trainer who does all the work and secures clients in the first place. Their excuse is that this is to "motivate" their trainers. What a joke!
Pros
Fitness enviroment
Cons
Under paid staff

Once was a great place to work, however, more recently saw a decline in their investment in staff.

Crèche Assistant (Former Employee) –  Twickenham, Greater London30 August 2017
Virgin active is a great company to work for. With the right attitude you can progress into other areas of the club and develope skills you never knew you had. The management are all about personal progression which is a really reassuring feeling. Would highly recommend for those full of energy and ready to join a team who treat you like part of them family.

The management don't care about staff, minimal trainings given, little care in cleaning, and pool tests, overall very dull boring and management make it stressful, lifeguards don't get breaks quick enough.

Good job, not great. Management team not really opened to new ideas. The advancement is really slow and in most of the chases related to experience. Interviews are full of basic questions

Don't waste your time.
