I was working at URS as a Temp. While I was there I offered to help create a spreadsheet to help the facilities Manager record and calculate all invoices for 8 different offices across the UK. This task was challenging but very much rewarding.

I found URS a nice place to work, the co-workers wer very helpful and friendly. It made my short stay enjoyable.

The work Schedule is flexible. Since the work involves multi-faceted domains so there is always scope to learn new things. Since the projects involves dealing with different levels of client, value addition is required at every level and hence can fine tune the design at every stage. There is Team work and gets support from subordinates peers and bosses.

A typical day at work involves liaison with a variety of both internal and external professionals, writing reports and reading up on relevant policies.

There are too many lay offs going on right now. I enjoy the people, managers, and co workers. The hardest part of the job is working nights.

Enjoyable work environment. Learned customer service skills. Learned management skills and training skills with new employees.

I was fortunate to work for URS for so long. During the time I was there I was constantly being moved up in my positions and given more responsibility. It was difficult to manage work and life because there were many late nights and early mornings that I was required to be at work for.

Interactions with URS management were minimal, but always positive. URS leaves most of the day to day decisions to the client for whom you work directly, a huge plus. Travel planning was made VERY easy by the great staff at URS/RCS. Would definitely recommend.

I work with airplanes doing maintenance. I am looking for a more challenging job in my field of study in the IT department of network security.

URS is a great company to work for. Awesome co-workers that work well and get teh job done. Unbelievable safety culture, not a single missed day of work from injuries by employees during my career their.

There are better places to work that treat employees like people rather then numbers.

With following implemented procedures and regulations, the company has achieved the OSHA VPP Site Star Status 3 years running and accompanied with an impressive 16,000,000 man hours without a missed day due to work related accidents.

You punch the clock and you are billable then you are safe. Butts in seats contracts that are by no means inspiring.

Other than a steady paycheck during the recession, there's not much good to mention. Seems this corporation exists only to take taxpayer's money from the government. Management runs with an Army attitude, and don't promote open communication or inventive thought. The good ol' boys network runs deep, so if you're in the club, you'll have a great career, – more... otherwise, URS is a stepping stone to some other company that will challenge and appreciate your skills. – less

The people were great to work with.
I learned a lot about plant operations and utility systems function.
The benefits were great and you had ample time off opportunities.
It was very difficult to adjust to a rotating shift schedule.

Performed helicopter maintenance in support of U.S. Army National Guard aviation.

Poor leadership got advancement by who you knew no one was treated equil very clickish organization

I liked this company, they took very good care of us while deployed in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Working for URS can be shakey. I was laid off and re-hired less than a month later. I was again laid off about 2 months later. Working for them is OK, but it seems like they are more interested in their bottom line than the employee. Over the past few years the company took away all paid sick days, 401K matching, and changed paid vacation policies. – more...
