At Travelodge we believe hotel stays should be affordable for everyone because travel improves your life, whether it helps you get in some more rest & relaxation with your family, discover new interests, explore new places or build better business relationships through face to face interactions.
It makes all our lives richer, but back in the 1980’s it also made you financially poorer and we decided it was time that changed - so that’s why we started Travelodge in 1985 to make hotel stays affordable for everyone with the UK’s first budget hotel chain.
Over the last 33 years we’ve lived up to our promise and helped more people get away, more often - from a few thousand stays a year in 1984 to over 9 million hotel stays last year. Since we started we’ve grown to over 530 hotels, introduced bar cafe’s in over 170 hotels and introduced a choice of rooms with our standard and SuperRoom options.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve invested millions in the business, helping transform the way people see us. During 2016 we opened 19 new hotels, including sites in London, Glasgow and Milton Keynes, we’re well on the way to making Travelodge Britain’s favourite hotel for value. – less
