I have enjoyed my time working for Topshop greatly, I have been able to progress through the training scheme and have benefited from my self motivation. A regular day will include a great deal of customer service which covers both a genuine approach to selling the product and promoting the brand. Best Seller reports are analysed weekly and I use them – more... when having to merchandise the Petite department, for which I am responsible of. The merchandising and creative part is my most enjoyable part of my job. As I still progress within my training however I am learning more and more about the management and running of the store, which is also of great interest to me. – less

I do not know one person who enjoys working in Topshop Plymouth. I know that other stores which members of staff transfer to and from are nothing like this.
The management talk to you like dirt yet expect so much from you at the same time.

A typical day at work is usually busy. Manager will always make sure there is something for us to do. Including merchandising, deliveries, account opening, window dressing. Since working for Topshop I have learnt a lot about fashion, and dealing with customers queries and complaints. I also am able to use the telephone confidently and give me advise – more... to who ever may need it.
Co-workers are of a simular age so everyone gets on, which creates a good working enviroment. – less

You can learn a lot from this company depending on the store size. Smaller stores are better for covering all aspects of retail. The pay isn't the best but you are given the opportunity to work up to a better pay grade.

I really enjoyed working at Topshop, the most enjoyable part of my job was giving great customer satisfaction to people that really appreciate your help and time. Everyone who works there are really happy and freindly and have made me feel so welcome and comfortable over the past 2 and a half years. I love my discount and love the products to!

A typical day at work involves me checking delivery is correct, unloading delivery, taking out the new lines of clothes and making sure there ready for the shop floor before opening time, dealing with faulty stock and transfers. Learnt how to deal with the public, assisting customers, stanards of a retail store.

Working for Topshop, every day is different and challenging. I worked for the flagship store, also known as the biggest fashion store in the world, where my personal goal has been to learn as much as possible, from what is good customer service to the basic technical requirements and rules regarding the shop itself. Managing a team of 200 staff, both Own Buy and Concession staff.
Reviewing daily/weekly figures, achieving targets and communicating with Head Office Buyers, Managers and Owners.
Writing weekly trade reports, approving new lines to the shop floor and monitoring their sales.

Topshop is an inspiring place where you can really develop your skills and become a better understandd person. As a visual merchandiser the hours are either during a night shift or early 6am shift but it means that you can get the work done which you need to to a professional standard.

A typical day at work would involve processing a delivery in the morning and then placing it on the shop floor afterwards. Usually in the afternoon I'm on the shop floor either giving customer service, in charge of the fitting room or at the till point. I have learnt a lot at Topshop mainly about management and back of house, more so than previous jobs – more... in retail where the main focus has been just on the shop floor. Since working at Topshop I'm far more confident with customer service and product knowledge. The management team at Topshop are very well organised, treat the rest of the team fairly and motivate each of us every shift. My co-workers are very helpful, friendly and also motivating towards one another, which makes working alongside them a pleasure. The hardest part of the job is making our target during slow periods because without irritating the customers, you have to push every sale you possibly can. The most enjoyable part of the job is providing excellent customer service and noticing the outcome when the customer leaves happy. – less

I would be in the stock room, unloading deliveries and tagging, pricing and hanging the clothes ready to go up onto the shop floor, as well as having a radio on me for people on the shop floor to ask me to find something for them to bring up, overall it was a good fun job, and quite sociable, working with very friendly, welcoming people.

From working in the Flagship store, I gained exceptional supervisory and delegating skills, enabling me to establish a professional relationship with my staff members. Working in such a busy, fast-paced environment helped me to take on more responsibility as an Advanced Level Sales Supervisor.

My range of responsibilities included:
- working alongside – more... the Visual Merchandising team
- opening and closing down my department
- writing out the planners for the rest of the staff where at each hour staff would rotate their different roles during their shifts
- buddying new starters and helping them develop and finish their competency levels starter books
- closing down the ‘back of house’ (an area where all the stock from every floor had to be sorted and transferred to its departments)
- till supervising
- sending breaks and lunches on time
- communicating to management any staff issues from the department. – less

I was doing work experience at Topshop so my day included:
- Stacking shelves
- Learning about the new in and out things in the fashion industry
- Helping the customers
- Promoting the shop
- Cleaning
- Helping out the staff
The most enjoyable part of my time at Topshop was helping out the staff dressing up the fashion dolls in the latest in fashion – more... outfits. – less

i really enjoyed the interaction with customers and chance to help them with what theyre looking for.
A typical day for me involved some styling mannequins, some merchandising product, serving on the tills, delegating jobs to the other members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the floor, and general service to members of the public entering the – more... store.

A typical day at work would be to use my initiative and take reponsibility, I learnt many new skills such as using a till to a high standard, stock checks and general tidying and cleaning, ect.
I made friends with co-workers and got on well with my management.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with upset customers, but I kept calm and handled – more... all situations professionally and in a kind manner.

I enjoyed working for a fast paced high street market. I was able to learn new skills such as cash handling and how to open accounts for customers wanting Topshop cards. Topshop offer many benefits such as the discount as staff get a uniform allowance and 60% off each item. The hardest part of my job as a sales assistant was keeping track of the changing – more... trends and stock and keeping on top of product knowledge. Had to constantly ask for a rota, no work life balance, put you on night shifts without asking if its okay and not even explaining you may have to do night shifts in your interview, never recieved holiday requests back. heard other Topshop stores are a lot more comitted to training but this store was very poor and has a high turnover of staff so explains – more... all really! – less

 I began in Topshop as a Sales Assistant but due to my hard work and skills in visual merchandising I was given a new job title and a new set of responsibilities.
 I was also awarded an advanced level position and also a pay rise.
 In Topshop I work closely on a one to one bases, delivering a high level of customer service, catering to a range of – more... different peoples needs and personality types.
 A large part of my job role is to process deliveries, ensuring they are securely tagged and merchandised into department or organised into the stock room. Bearing in mind, company and branch best sellers, zero sellers and new items.
 Here I also am till trained, handle large amounts of cash and am witness to admin banking.
 I have also taken part in many stock takes. – less
